Rockwell Automation Welcomes New IMC Partner

Igranic Control SystemsAs an authorised 'Systems Integrator', Igranic Control systems are now utilising the full range of Rockwell and Allen Bradley intelligent control components and software, having already used these components for many years in the production of both conventional and intelligent motor control centres.

The Igranic product range is particularly versatile as we are able to offer fully integrated motor starting and distribution packages involving both low voltage (415V) and medium voltage (3.3kV to 36kV) equipment which can be very beneficial when a client is looking for a complete 'turnkey' project supplier.

In order to demonstrate the close working partnership, which has been formed between our two companies, we have constructed an exhibition area at our Bedford works. We are now able to offer our clients a 'hands on' working system to evaluate. The system incorporates the full range of Igranic equipment along with intelligent control components and software of almost every type from Rockwell Automation's comprehensive product range.

Low Voltage & High Voltage Switchboard OverviewThe system is networked using a combination of Ethernet and Devicenet with everything terminating at an industrial computer station running RSView with our own SCADA type application which gives access to each component or drive using the RSLinx and RSNetworx. The chosen PLC for this demonstration is Control Logix as it demonstrates how much information and control can be achieved using very small and powerful processor.

The benefits of a demonstration facility
The new demonstration facility readily identifies the cost benefits that a fully integrated system can provide. The level of intelligence required can be tailored to suit the client's needs, at its entry level a starter / MCC mounted Panelview HMI can provide intuitive localised control.

For a little more investment a fully functional SCADA system can be provided from which operators are able to monitor and maintain precise control of their process or equipment. This can, and often is, extended to provide remote monitoring and control from dial-up or networked connections, allowing remote diagnostics or data collection to take place.

The incorporation of schematic diagrams, maintenance manuals, product data sheets and standard spare parts lists are also incorporated into the SCADA system to provide maximum functionality for the end user.

About the Partnership
Our partnership with Rockwell is seen by all as a positive move for both companies, providing Igranic with an excellent set of products, which we are using to enhance our entire range. This also enables the Rockwell product range to be introduced to our customers and into product areas that may not have otherwise been possible. As both our companies have head offices within 20 miles of each other, we are also ideally situated for frequent product updates between our companies, along with the excellent training and support that are available when needed.
